Asphalt insulation pump is easy to operate and implement production information management, which improves the performance of the automation system. It also has advantages such as operation, maintenance, upkeep, mechanical debugging, and easy replacement of parts.

The medium conveyed by the asphalt insulation pump is corrosive or soluble to the packing seal used in the gear pump. Thereby damaging the sealing performance of the packing seal or skeleton oil seal. If it is a mechanical seal, then the O-ring on the dynamic and static rings of the mechanical seal should be checked for damage. The conveyed medium contains impurities that enter the mechanical seal, causing damage to the dynamic and static rings of the mechanical seal and resulting in leakage of the asphalt insulation pump. Due to insufficient machining accuracy of the main or driven shaft and gears of the asphalt insulation pump, the gears of the gear pump may experience radial runout or axial transmission during operation, resulting in seal damage and leakage.

1、 The operation of the flushing system should be set up, and the flushing frequency, flushing intensity, etc. should be adjusted correctly to ensure the normal operation of the flushing system;

2、 Monitoring the operation status of the mechanical seal of the asphalt insulation pump throughout the process can start from the above-mentioned issues, that is, "investigating each factor one by one". If any problems occur, they should be rectified in a timely manner, and relevant auxiliary systems and equipment should be used correctly to lay an important foundation for the continuous operation of the pump's mechanical seal.

Analysis of mechanical seal leakage points and improvement of stable operation for asphalt insulation pump

1、 Increase the stable operation and improvement of asphalt insulation pump

In the practical operation of mechanical sealing technology for asphalt insulation pumps, attention should be paid to its stability. However, some units and technical personnel lack the operation process and details, which makes it difficult to determine the smooth application of mechanical sealing technology for pumps. This mainly includes: lack of stable operation in the flushing system, lack of stable operation during maintenance and assembly, and unstable operation, which will form a prerequisite for potential problems and hidden dangers under overheating conditions. Therefore, the lack of stable operation in practical applications also has a significant impact on the performance of mechanical seals used in pumps.

2、 Analysis of mechanical seal leakage points in asphalt insulation pump

The dynamic ring of a mechanical seal is composed of fixed bolts, sealing rings, transmission seats, and springs, which are installed on the transmission shaft to achieve joint operation with the shaft body. The static ring is composed of anti rotation fixing bolts and sealing rings, installed at the machine seal cover, and forms a whole with the asphalt insulation pump casing, in a static state. After the installation of the mechanical seal is completed, it is necessary to rely on the pressure exerted by the working medium inside the circular arc oil pump, as well as the spring force provided by the dynamic ring spring, to achieve tight compaction between the dynamic ring and the static ring. When the asphalt insulation pump is in working condition, a thin liquid film is formed between the dynamic and static rings by the working medium, which ensures that the mechanical seal will not leak. This is the main seal of the mechanical seal. In addition, the sealing between the shaft sleeve and the moving ring, the machine seal static ring and the cover, the shaft sleeve and the pump shaft, etc. is achieved by using O-ring seals.

The parts where mechanical seals may leak include: (1) the sealing point between the shaft sleeve and the shaft, which is a static seal. (2) The sealing of the contact surface between the dynamic and static rings is a dynamic seal. (3) The dynamic ring and shaft sleeve seal are static seals. (4) The seal between the static ring and the mechanical seal cover is a static seal. (5) The sealing point between the mechanical seal cover and the asphalt insulation pump body is a static seal.

Leakage caused by installation and assembly accuracy issues of asphalt insulation pump

1、 Precision issues in mechanical seal assembly

The assembly accuracy of mechanical seals is also a factor causing seal damage, such as insufficient concentricity in the installation of dynamic and static rings, and inappropriate compression during the installation of mechanical seals. When the compression amount is too large, it will cause the end faces of the dynamic and static rings to fit too tightly, and cannot be opened normally during operation to form a liquid film, resulting in severe wear and failure. When the compression amount is too small, the end face pressure ratio is too small, which is easily affected by factors such as pressure fluctuations and pump vibration during operation, and the sealing surface will fail to open.

2、 Installation issues with the pump

The vibration of asphalt insulation pump has a particularly serious impact on the mechanical seal, so the installation of the coupling center of the pump is an important factor. In addition, the excessive dimensions of the shaft string, the perpendicularity of the sealing box end face and shaft, the clearance between the gland and the sealing box stopper, the clearance between the pump cover and the pump body stopper, the shaft sleeve and radial runout, etc., will all affect the sealing performance.
