In the process of gear pump, the preparation and inspection of raw materials are the main links for product quality and stable performance. From careful selection of raw materials to strict inspection, each step is related to the performance and service life of the gear pump in the later stage.

Raw material preparation

The types of raw materials for gear pumps include multiple categories such as metallic and non-metallic materials. Metal materials are mainly used for key components such as gears, pump bodies, and shafts, commonly including steel. These steels need to have good mechanical properties, such as good hardness, to withstand the high pressure and friction generated by gear pumps during operation; At the same time, it should also possess the ability to resist wear and rust during long-term operation, and maintain stable performance.

Non metallic materials also play a role in gear pumps. For example, seals are usually made of materials such as rubber, which must have elasticity and sealing properties to prevent medium leakage inside the pump and ensure the normal operation of gear pumps. In addition, some auxiliary components may also use materials such as plastic, which require physical and chemical properties such as high temperature and resistance to chemical corrosion.

In the stage of raw material preparation, the procurement process is important. To establish long-term cooperative relationships with suppliers with stable reputation and quality, the source of the purchased raw materials should be determined. Purchasing personnel need to conduct sufficient research on raw materials in the market, understand the product characteristics and quality levels of different suppliers, and select appropriate raw materials based on the requirements and production needs of gear pumps. At the same time, it is necessary to strictly follow the procurement plan to ensure the accuracy of the specifications, models, and quantities of raw materials.

After the arrival of raw materials, proper storage management is required. Different types of raw materials should be classified and stored to avoid confusion and contamination. Metal materials should be stored in a dry and ventilated warehouse to prevent rusting and corrosion; Non metallic materials should be stored in appropriate environments based on their characteristics. For example, rubber products should avoid direct sunlight and high temperature environments to prevent aging and deterioration. In addition, a raw material inventory management system needs to be established to timely grasp the inventory situation of raw materials and ensure the continuous supply of raw materials during the production process.

Raw material inspection

Raw material inspection is a key step in determining the quality of gear pumps. The inspection work should follow strict standards and specifications, and conduct a thorough inspection of all batches of raw materials received.

For metal materials, a visual inspection should be conducted initially to check for surface defects such as cracks, folds, and scars, which may affect the strength and toughness of the material and reduce the service life of the gear pump. Secondly, dimensional accuracy inspection should be conducted to ensure that the dimensions of the raw materials meet the requirements, in order to avoid difficulties in subsequent processing or substandard product performance caused by dimensional deviations. In addition, it is necessary to inspect the chemical composition and mechanical properties of metal materials. Through technical testing equipment and methods, analyze whether the chemical composition of the material meets the standards, and test whether its mechanical performance indicators such as hardness, strength, and toughness meet the requirements.

The inspection of non-metallic materials mainly focuses on their physical and chemical properties. Taking rubber seals as an example, their physical properties such as hardness, elasticity, tensile strength, sealing performance, and service life should be tested; At the same time, it is necessary to test its chemical properties such as resistance to oil and corrosion, to ensure that no chemical reaction will occur and failure will occur when in contact with the medium inside the pump. For materials such as plastics, their resistance to heat, cold, insulation, and other properties should be tested to determine whether they meet the requirements for the use of gear pumps in different working environments.

Only raw materials that have undergone strict inspection and meet the required standards can enter the production process. For raw materials that fail inspection, they must be resolutely returned to prevent them from entering the production process and causing hidden dangers to the quality of the gear pump. Through strict preparation and inspection of raw materials, a solid foundation is laid for the production of gear pumps, which have good quality and performance.
