There are two types of control valves on the gear oil pump: spring-loaded control valves and one-time action stabilizing valves. When the discharge pressure of the gear oil pump is lower than the reseating pressure of the stabilizing valve, the control valve will close. There is obviously no reseating pressure Ph for the stabilizing valve during one operation. When the discharge pressure of the gear pump is greater than the starting pressure Pk, the control valve opens to release the pressure to the predetermined level. The sealing pressure Pm of the stabilizing valve should be equal to the allowable discharge pressure Pd of the gear oil pump (referring to the pressure of the liquid in the multi cylinder pump collection pipe or discharge buffer tank for reciprocating pumps). If the actual operating pressure of the pump is lower than the allowable discharge pressure, the control valve should adjust the sealing pressure according to the actual operating pressure.
