The pressure of the fluid in the viscous oil pump decreases from the pump inlet to the impeller inlet, and the liquid pressure near the blades is low. Due to some local reasons in the overcurrent part of the operating viscous oil pump, when the pressure of the pumped liquid drops to the vaporization pressure at that temperature, the liquid vaporizes at that location, and there may also be gas overflow from the solution in the liquid, forming many bubbles. These bubbles flow forward with the liquid. When the pressure inside the blade is higher than the vaporization pressure inside the bubbles, the bubbles will rapidly shrink and rupture to form cavities. At the same time, a large impact pressure of several hundred atmospheres will be generated, forming water hammer, continuously hitting the metal surface, and the metal surface will fatigue and peel off due to the impact. The occurrence of this phenomenon causes corrosion and damage to the overcurrent components. The process of generating bubbles and rapidly reducing them to the point of rupture and damage to the overcurrent components is the cause of cavitation during the operation of the viscous oil pump.
