Long term operation of gear oil pumps can cause internal leakage due to wear of internal components, usually between the gear end face and the thrust plate. As the internal wear clearance increases, the self-priming ability of the gear pump will deteriorate and the pressure will decrease, resulting in a decrease in the flow rate of the gear pump. Internal leakage of the gear oil pump causes a decrease in pressure and flow rate. The leakage area between the floating shaft sleeve and the gear end face is large, which is the main part causing internal leakage. This part of the leakage accounts for about 50% to 70% of the total internal leakage. The volumetric efficiency of the gear oil pump with wear and leakage decreases, and the output power of the oil pump is lower than the input power. All of its losses are converted into thermal energy, which can cause the gear pump to overheat. If the bonding plane is pressed tightly, the floating shaft sleeve may experience slight movement during operation, causing wear and resulting in a decrease in pressure and flow rate. Such a floating shaft sleeve should be replaced or repaired.
