Compared with domestic pumps, there are still many gaps. One issue is the poor standardization, serialization, and generalization of pumps. Each pump production plant has its own series, and the standardization and interchangeability of components are low. There is a lack of unified standards, and product specifications and models cannot meet the needs of petrochemical development. The second reason is poor quality and performance, mainly due to the limited variety or improper selection of materials in China, as well as low processing accuracy. In addition, the sealing life of the pump is low and the variety is limited. The service life of mechanical seals can generally reach about 2 years, and domestic petrochemical pumps have not yet reached this level. Thirdly, the pump efficiency is low. Due to the poor hydraulic model and low machining accuracy of domestic pumps, the pump efficiency is generally 2% to 3% lower. Therefore, there are still many chemical process pumps that have to be replaced.
